Our First House...

We bought our first house!!! Moving this weekend - Pictures to come!

Our first Camping trip...

We had our first camp out up American Fork Canyon, with Cj, Wendy and their family. So much fun...

Catching up...

We've continued to go hiking as often as possible, but have managed to forget our camera every single time.

We went on a hidden trail up Big Cottonwood Canyon with Amy and Ben where we were literally walking in the middle of some small waterfalls. It was beautiful...(wish I had some pictures).
We also went up to Silver Lake, twice, which is a very family friendly hike. The first time, we were trying to beat the storm and were unsuccesful. Halfway around the lake it started hailing! It might have been fun if it were just raining, and we didn't have to worry about the boys getting sick.

The second time, was just this past weekend. It was actually cold! And we loved it!!! The lake was beautiful, we had a nice little lunch and saw lots of squirrels!

Two weekends ago we went up Little Cottonwood Canyon to Cecret Lake. We were told it was a pretty easy hike, and it wasn't bad, but I wouldn't call it easy...It was really pretty and a lot of fun. Once we got to the lake, we ate lunch and threw rocks into the water. (Well Danny and Mom threw rocks...we found out that Dad is an expert at skipping rocks!)

Tom got to do one hike without the rest of us slowing him down, which is a good thing, since it took him and his buddy 12 hours to do!!! (Keep in mind, there was snow, and they took an hour break to eat lunch...) This was a hike to the top of Mt. Timpanogos...

This is why...

This is why I avoided creating a blog...I'm just not very good at updating it!

Hiking through Summer...

We've decided to spend every weekend this summer, weather permitting, hiking. So far, we've gone four times in the last three weeks. We were hoping Danny would be able to handle it and are pleased to report that he's better at it than we are! We already know what a beautiful place Utah is, but to see all that is hidden within and above the mountains is breathtaking!

Here we are at Donut Falls. We did this one twice hoping to climb to the top of the falls the second time, but unable to do so. (Too much water...).

Danny was happy to bring his cousin Bode along the second time...

Our next hike was to Hidden Falls which turned out to be just a walk across the street. So we started the North Fork Trail. It's a three-mile hike, and Sheryl had to work, so we decided to save most of that hike for the following week. (None of our pictures of the actual falls turned out, except for the one with Tom's eyes closed, so here you go...).

When we returned to finish the hike, we had no idea what we were in for. It was a pretty hard, and long hike. It definitely felt like more than three miles. But it was beautiful and peaceful. Oh, except for the growling noise we heard on the way back down. Scary...

How it all began...

Harrison (Tom) and Sheryl met while attending the College of Eastern Utah in the small town of Price, Utah. How either of us "big city folk" ended up in such a small town is a mystery. Not an unsolved mystery though, because...now we're married!

We met in September of 2002, dated for a little over two years, and were married in the Salt Lake LDS Temple on November 6, 2004.

Three months later, we found out we were expecting! Daniel Morgan Odell was added to our family on September 23, 2005. He was born at 6 lbs. 12 oz. and 18 inches long; dark hair, olive skin, and dark brown eyes. When he first appeared, and for the first few months, we wondered if he was ours...he looked like he belonged to an asian couple. He was beautiful and the best gift we had ever been given!

We were so happy with our little Danny. Who knew it could get any better...but in July of 2008, we found out we were expecting another baby! Oliver Alan Odell was born on March 10, 2009. He was born at 7 lbs. 9 oz. and 18 and a 1/2 inches long; blond hair, dark blue eyes and fair skin. The complete opposite of Danny, but just as handsome.

In the almost seven years since we met, so many wonderful memories have been made, with so many more yet to be...and now, with the encouragement of Tricia, along with many of our friends, we've finally created a place to document it all.

Here are the Tales of the Odells...
